NO MORE NASTY CIGGY ODOUR

To take a puff in the car, or to wait till you arrive at your destination? A lot of you smokers would choose the former option. You’re addicts, we get it. But when the smell of stale, smoked-up tobacco starts seeping into the seats and infusing with every element of your car interior, then you have a problem. Especially when your friends start making up bizarre excuses for not hitching with you (“it’s okay I’ve always wanted to sleepover in the office anyway!”) or when the lady starts breathing down your neck with very lawyer-like cross examination skills about the origin of this peculiar smell.
Well, it’s your lucky day. Here we list some effective ways of getting all that scummy smell out of your car, and make it smell like how a car should smell like. Some of these take a while to complete, so make sure you have a plan put into action to get whoever it is you’re deceiving out of the way for a day.

Distilled Vinegar
Get a couple of plastic bowls, place a small towel in each, and top it up with distilled vinegar. Put these bowls in the car for a few hours (or overnight depending on the smell scale) to absorb the odours in the car. The bigger your car, the more bowls of vinegar you’ll need.
Alternatively, mix quarter cup of vinegar with two cups of water, pour it into a spray bottle and mist your car interior with this. Don’t worry about the smell of the vinegar as it wears off pretty quickly.

Baking Soda
Sprinkle baking soda on the upholstery, carpets, and other applicable materials, work it in for a bit, and leave it to absorb for a couple of hours before vacuuming up all the traces. Be sure not to leave any trace of baking soda behind as evidence!

Coffee Beans
Place some roasted ground up coffee beans in a few paper cups and place them inside several spots on your car to soak up all that yummy stink.

Kitty Litter

Kitty litter is meant to absorb unwanted odours of cat secretion, so you can imagine how it could work for your car too. Place a bowl of kitty litter in your car, for a couple of days even, if you like, and let it work its magic.

Carpet Deodorizer

You could use a carpet deodorizer to compliment the other cleaning methods listed above, to spring clean your carpets and give your car a fresh aroma.

Newspaper is an absorbent, and can be also used to soak up unwanted odours. Crumple some and stuff them in several spots in your car as a complimentary effort to one of the above smell-sucking methods.
