MCLUX?

Who’d have thought, McDonalds actually rolled out a range of ‘gourmet’ burgers – which coincidentally comes after Jamie Oliver’s epic trashing of the brand. Unfortunately, the release was not worldwide, and these special burgers were only available for a limited time in Japan. However, feedback on the Internet tells us they were in fact pretty well received, and the images and videos circulating have left many of us salivating… helplessly.

Priced around 1,000 yen (US$9.93) – à la carte, these specials were available for one day each, during the month of July. And, to seal the deal, came in posh, glossy packaging.
The Gold Ring, came with the usual patty, had Monterey Jack cheese, thick slices of pineapple and generous slabs of bacon.

Packing black truffle sauce, grilled mushrooms, onions and cheese, the Black Diamond burger brought the standard quarter pounder to new heights.

Last but not least, the Ruby Spark featured five slices of chorizo, avocado and pepper jack cheese.

Sigh. Another one of those ‘only in Japan’ moments…
