‘CORSE’ ROAR

If you love Lamborghini’s growing family of limited edition Gallardos, you’ve probably been eagerly anticipating the new LP 570-4 Squadra Corse (set to be fully revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show), which promises a more track-like experience than ever before on the road.
Touted as the ‘newest and most extreme’ model in the Gallardo line-up, this new marque draws inspiration from the highly successful Gallardo Super Trofeo track car, which made headlines at the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championships in Europe, Asia and America due to its ability to deliver on some of the world’s most treacherous racetracks.
Packing the same V10 engine as its track counterpart, the Squadra Corse features a similar rear wing for a better aerodynamic load – resulting in enhanced stability when faced with tight, highspeed situations. Another shared feature comes in the form of a removable engine hood via a quick-release system; and both the aforementioned innovations are made from carbon composite material.
With regard to weight reduction, carbon fiber is extensively used – resulting in a dry weight of 1,340kg which is 70kg less than its predecessor the Gallardo LP560-4. This allows the Squadra Corse to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and make 200km/h in 10.4 It has a top speed of 320km/h, and is capable of 570hp at 8,000 rpm.

Allowing the driver seamless fun, standard features in the cockpit include robotized e-gear six-speed transmission mated to steering wheel paddles – which Lambo claims allows you to ‘shift through its six gears smoothly and much faster than any pro driver could.’
Sure sounds promising, and we simply can’t wait to see this baby in action (and hopefully pitted against the other highlights) at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
