SHOOTING IS SOOTHING – WHEN DONE UNDERWATER

(Via KULfoto)
Have you ever wondered what would happen if someone tried to shoot you with a gun when you are underwater? Contrary to the logic of certain movies and video games that show people getting gun-shot and injured or killed while underwater, most bullets would be slowed down too quickly by water to hurt you even if they manage to reach you. But before we dive into a full-blown scientific discussion, have a look at the soothing visual effects of slow-motion videos of guns being fired underwater.
In fact, even a .50 caliber bullet fired from a high-powered sniper rifle would shatter upon contact with the surface tension of the water (assuming that the bullet is shot from the outside of that body of water).
