Forget your morning coffee and hourly lattes. Apart from the money factor, not everyone finds the drink as aromatic and flavourful as is commonly advertised. Besides, who needs them when you can now effortlessly spray caffeine onto yourself in a giffy?
Sprayable Energy was developed by 21 year-old Ben Yu and his partner Deven Soni, after discovering that coffee did not work for him. With the help of his dad who has a PhD in Chemistry, he carefully developed and tested this alternative while using himself as a rough guinea pig. Sprayable Energy consists of a special formula that contains water, a by-product of the amino acid tyrosine, and liquid caffeine.

To use Sprayable Energy, all you need to do is spritz yourself a couple of times with the liquid, and voila! You’ll be as refreshed and energized, if not better, than a cup of coffee. In fact, you’ll be absorbing a lower amount of caffeine through your skin, because as the makers explain, the product is not being ingested and thus does not have to be processed on a whole by the liver. So while your intake of caffeine is lesser than usual, the effects are equivalent to the regular cup of fix that you purchase. You don’t have to worry about smelling like coffee either as Sprayable Energy is discreet, being both colourless and odorless, plus it fits easily in a purse or handbag. The perks just get better and better. While their recommended maximum daily intake is 20 sprays, the pair claim that one can hardly accidentally overdose themselves as the liquid will vaporize before being all absorbed into the skin.
So far, so good. Now all we need is USD 15,000 for these boys to develop their line commercially. Sponsors anyone?
