-Press Release-
Twice a year, Editors, Celebrities, Stylists and Bloggers gather in New York, London, Paris and Milan for an exclusive showcase of the work of some of the world’s top designers. First stop, New York City — with the spring/summer 2014 collections set to hit the runway this week, we caught up with NYLON Online Executive Editor, Rebecca Willa Davis to get the inside scoop on NYFW and the top trends she’ll be trialling on the front row this season.

Which trend will you be trialling at New York Fashion Week this season?
I’m really looking forward to running around with a backpack — i’ve got a soft spot for trends that are also super functional.

Which show are you most excited to see?
Karen Walker is always one of my favorites; just about every outfit is one I’d wear.

Favourite NY haunt for an after-show cocktail?
El Centro — not only for its proximity to the Lincoln Center, but also because of the frozen margaritas!

What is in your NYFW survival kit?
Phone, glasses, at least five different tubes of lipstick, my Moleskine notebook, a Kind fruit and nut bar, and my voice recorder.

What is a typical Fashion Week day like for the NYLON team?
Very little of NYFW is spent actually watching shows — so much of it is running around from place to place, getting backstage to interview a designer or makeup artist, waiting for the show to start, and then getting back to the office to write it all up. (Meals in between are nice, but rare. There’s a reason why there’s always some granola bar brand handing out freebies in the tents.)

If you could pick three fashion must-haves that every woman should own, what would they be?
A pair of perfect-fitting jeans, black Chelsea boots that you can walk for miles in, and an outrageous bag that fits everything (and preferably has some sort of animal print on it).
