THE 20/20 EXPERIENCE
ARTIST: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
After a seven-year hiatus from the music scene, Mr. SexyBack teased his audience with a minute-long teaser video where he talks about why he has been away for so long and what motivates him. At the end of it, Timberlake simply wraps it up by saying “I’m ready.” And with that, he’s finally back behind the mic; but JT isn’t the only one staging a comeback here. His leading man, Timbaland co-produced every track along with Timberlake himself and Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon. The 20/20 Experience is nothing like his previous albums – it’s got a cool showbiz razzle-dazzle vibe, minus the flashy stuff that has been future in his previous albums. With an entirely different musical shade, The 20/20 Experience features 7 out of 10 tracks that linger for more than seven minutes.
LISTEN TO: “Suit & Tie” feat. Jay-Z, “Tunnel Vision”, “That Girl” and “Mirrors”
THE NEXT DAY
ARTIST: DAVID BOWIE
After nearly a decade of silence, David Bowie finally returns with his 24th studio album, The Next Day. An album with a combination of styles that were developed throughout his 40-plus-year career, tracks on The Next Day has lyrics that tackle topics ranging from war to loss to personal nostalgia, and they may very well be his bleakest set of lyrics to date. But nevertheless, The Next Day serves up a fair share of nostalgia. As for Bowie’s vocal prowess, it may not be as strong as before but this latest album doesn’t suffer for it.
LISTEN TO: “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)”, “You Feel So Lonely You Could Die” and “Where Are We Now?”
SOUND CITY: REAL TO REEL OST
ARTIST: VARIOUS ARTISTS
The documentary Sound City, Grohl’s directorial debut tells the story of Sound City Studios where bands such as Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, and Rage Against the Machine (to name a few) – made some of the most influential albums. Determined not to let the memories fade-off, Grohl invited the all-star cast of musicians such as Sir Paul McCartney, Josh Homme, Trent Reznor, Rick Springfield, and a few others who’d recorded at Sound City to make a new album the old fashioned way; and also to pay its due respect to the glorious analogue.

PEOPLE, HELL AND ANGELS
